This 16 inch deer hide shamanic drum for sale has been crafted on a red oak hoop. Holding an agetised coral stone in the centre of a tri-spiral handle.
The 'birth mark' dot on the face of the drum sits in the South. The darker markings around the circle edge evoke a soaking in, a bleeding edge, or that of scorch marks on wood. Tiny 'flame' patterns dance around and up towards the North from the dot that anchors the energy of this drum in the South. The South where some traditions believe is a place of birth. For me, the South is a place of adventure, travel, of setting out from.
This drum appears to bear witness, holding a grounded ancestor wisdom, an earth wisdom and an earthy fire of transformation. A revealing of the inner self. A being laid bare. Parched. I see dry soil falling between fingers; a reminder that time is passing and the presciousness of life. There is time to act now, just add water and bloom!
