This 14 inch deer hide shamanic drum for sale on an ash hoop was born by the sea, at Whitley bay. Bathed in the sea, lay on the sand, soaked up the sun and felt the wind running through. Birthed in the south this drum holds a four direction cross. While on the beach I sang to my ancestors and to the elements and directions (hear clip included) connecting the energy of this drum to all that is.

To me this drum has an honest simplicity, a natural truth, and a power of holding.
The beater has been made with a peice of silver birch branch collected on a local walk, the head is made of chamoise leather and is filled with sheeps wool from Gloustershire. A generous band of brown sheepskin wraps the handle.

On the following day, 23 February, I completed making the rattle, working with a peice of twisted ground ivy branch gathered with permission from the base of a tree, that is included in this bundle set, made from the same hide, carrying similar energy but of course, a complete individual and sacred tool in its own right. Filled with snowflake obsidian, labradorite and some beans and corn for grounding, and a few steel ballbearings. A spray of pheasant feathers are cuffed by a flash of white rabbit fur.
This is a fantastic sacred tool healing set. The smaller size in no way reduces the depth and power of this drum. The rattle holds a crisp, shift sound.

My shamanic drums are made from sustainably sourced hides and wooden hoops. All my drums come with a beater that usually has the same animal skin used in some way, to connect them. I always work in a sacred ceremonial way respecting all parts of the process.
