Absolutely stunning spirit drum. Rich, elegant, vibrant and noble. There is an air of celestial frequencies and patterns in the North direction, and anchoring and grounding in the South. She was a long birth as I focused on the details, and the flow of where the lacing (the design of the rear and handle) wanted to go. I could have ended sooner, with a simpler design, but this drum wanted me to go on, exploring the possibilities of what might be created and woven into being.
Discernment, attention to detail...elegance.
When I asked the name I heard Alessandra: " The name Alessandra, of Italian origin, is a feminine form of the male name Alessandro, which itself derives from the Greek name Alexandros. The etymology of Alessandra translates to defender of mankind or protector, reflecting traits of strength and resilience. Names with such meanings often carry cultural significance, emphasizing the virtues of safeguarding and leadership. Throughout history, the name Alessandra has been borne by numerous notable figures, adding to its prestige. In the realms of art and literature, it has appeared in various forms, often used to denote characters with noble qualities. The name gained popularity in the Renaissance, aligning with the era's emphasis on humanism and individualism" - Ancestry.co.uk
The beater that is included free with this drum is made from a willow handle, a little leather trim, some of the same goat hide. The head is filled with sheeps wool and is made from olive coloured Italian leather/suede.

My shamanic drums for sale are made from sustainably sourced hide from either Scotland or the Netherlands. All my drums come with a free beater that usually has the same deer skin used in some way, to connect them. I always work in a sacred ceremonial way respecting all parts of the process.
