This hand crafted shamanic rattle for sale is made from hand dyed deer hide with a black lambskin leather, Pyrite, and deer hide collar.  The handle is made wood found on a local walk.  I do not know for sure what wood this is, but sanded, oiled and laqured, it looks similar to oak branches I have worked with before.
 
This rattle came in over a couple of days.  I was guided to cut this section of wood off a longer branch that I used to make a drum beater handle.  'This is a rattle handle', I embodied.  
 
As I worked with it, I had strong feelings, words and images come through around information and mathematical symbols.  When I tuned in to see what/if any crystals wanted to be included, it was very clear that Pyrite was on board.  I kept holding the wood, turning it, looking at it, knowing it meant something but I had no idea what.  It was communicating on many levels, that's hard to humanise into words.
 
When this shamanic rattle was complete I asked, 'Do you have a name'.  When I do this, I have come to know that I am asking on many levels, using many senses.  I feel the question which could be written as 'Who are you, what do you represent, what energies do you hold, what information do you carry, who are you, where do you come from....etc?'   After asking this I intuited the word 'Pi' - knowing that to be a mathematical term, feeling that to represent something more universal.
 
So I now know that Pi  is:  a Greek letter that looks very like the handle of this rattle, that is the ratio of the circumference of any circle to the diameter of that circle.  Regardless of the circle's size, this ratio will always equal Pi.  This has feelings of sacred geometry and infinity for me. Then the fact that Pyrite wanted to be in on the co-creation took deeper meaning as I see Pyrite as more structural, more 'mathematical' in its form.  
 
Whats even more interesting is when I started out, I felt that the handle should have the short arm on the left, (this is intuitive) that being the face front of the rattle.  However, during the creation, the handle ended up the other way around, when I realised I was a bit miffed but default as I always do to, 'There will be a reason!'  Trust and Faith!  SO it looks like we are working with reverse Pi/reverse circle/anticlockwise energy here.  Perhaps this rattle will be a transmuter, a deconstructer, a facilitator of re-birth?!  Who knows.
 
The rattle head is filled with labradorite, clear quartz, corn, and a few stainless steel ball bearings.
